How to care for your hair extensions after installation
Brushing
-We recommend each client go home with an loop brush designed specifically for extensions. The loop bristles ensure the hair does not snag or pull on the extensions. Tough plastic loops allow for easy de-tangling compared to soft plastic loops that only touch the surface. Cushion base also allows flexibility to the hair’s natural elasticity to avoid breakage.
Washing
-We Recommend shampoo and conditioner that are specially formulated for hair extensions and wigs, ultimately tackling the biggest concerns with hair extension such as; tangles, dryness and lack of shine. The added benefits of conditioner on for 3-5 minutes, and rinse thoroughly. Avoid applying conditioner on the root or scalp. If your hair is extremely dry then we recommend a Masque.
Towel Drying
– After rinsing squeeze excess water from the hair, wrap a towel around the head and gently pat the towel to remove moisture from the hair. Avoid rubbing the hair or scalp as this will cause matting and tangling.
Blow-drying and Heat Styling
-You may let your hair dry naturally or style it as you normally would. With the Double-Loop extensions, heated styling tools are not a threat, although avoid direct contact at the root with heated styling tools if you are wearing the tape-in extensions. Styling products may be used as you normally would. You can safely assume that whatever is good for your hair is good for the extensions, just as what is bad for your hair is bad for the extensions.
Colour
-Your Hair extensions can be coloured, however that will void the warranty. We highly recommend it to be done by a professional stylist.
Sleeping
-Before going to bed, we recommend putting your hair in a loose ponytail, soft scrunchie or a loose braid to prevent tangling and knotting during sleeping. Also recommend silk pillow covers.
